Malaysia in general

Malaysia is one of the most developed countries in South East Asia and is known for its deep culture and the various different nationalities it accommodates. It is also noted for its World record for accommodating the World’s tallest twin buildings situated in the country's Capital, Kuala Lumpur. The Capital is the highlight of the country being the busiest and most active city. Malaysia was under British rule for quite a long period of time in the 18th century. It was then later occupied by Japan during the Second World War. While development has been considerably in progress during these stages as well thanks to its tin deposits underground, numerous civil wars degraded and slowed its development. Much of its growth occurred after it gained independence in the 20th century.

Malaysia is home to several cultures and nationalities. The approximately 30 million people that live in the county consist mainly of Indians, Chinese and of course Malay people. The occupation of Indians and Chinese dates all the way back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Today, citizens have embraced the 3 cultures and equally share their traditions, in terms of food, festivals and culture.

Malaysia harbors thousands of tourists every year because of the numerous facilities and activities it accommodates. As mentioned before, Kuala Lumpur is the most thriving city and this trend is seen with tourists and visitors as well. Tourists visiting Malaysia usually dwell in the capital during their stay. Other cities like Kelantan and Penang also contribute to the country with their lush paddy fields and natural, breath taking sites. There are several tourist attractions throughout the capital and the rest of the city:

  • The Petronas Towers are one of the most fascinating man made structure being the World largest twin buildings and also being an absolute delight to look at.
  • The Golden Triangle is pretty much the highlight of all shopping and entertainment malls in the country. Situated in the capital, it comprises of an array of shopping malls, museums and other facilities.
  • The Central Market is also one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city and is a great place to get acquainted with the country and its culture.
